Individual Health Insurance
Individual and Family Health Insurance
This page is especially for those of you looking for the best individual and family health insurance plan, custom tailored to meet your particular needs.
The first consideration is
"What is the best health plan for you and your family?"
There are many factors to consider in choosing a health plan and often it proves to be a confusing experience. No single "best" plan exists, however after making some basic choices, a plan can be tailored that will be better for you and your family's health needs than others. Our objective is to guide you in as simple terms as possible. Instead of giving you our opinion of what is best, let's make sure you understand the choices available.
By considering the following issues carefully, we can help you find the right insurance plan for you and your family, in particular, your needs, wants and circumstances:
When I need services, what will it cost me?
- How much will the insurance cost me on a monthly basis?
- How much of my possible costs should I try to insure... all expenses, most expenses, catastrophic only?
- What if I only cover the kids…Is that available and how much less would that cost?
- What are deductibles? How do they work? When do I have to pay them?
- After my deductible is paid, what part of remaining expenses does the insurance pay?
- What choices do I have for service providers? (doctors, hospitals, clinics, etc?)
- What if I want other providers not in the network? Is that available? Does it cost more?
- Are there enough of the kinds of providers I want in the network?
- Are they located close to my home and office?
- Do I need an appointment or can I just drop in?
- Do I need a referral to see a specialist?
- Do the services included in my plan match my needs?
- Are there limits to the services I can get?
- Are there limits to how much I might have to pay for a major illness or surgery?
- Are prescription drugs covered? What bout brand name versus generics?
- Are expenses related to maternity covered?
- What about routine annual physicals for children and adults?
- Are there any other specific consideration important to me and my family?
Make sure that when you are comparing policies, you compare on an "apples to apples" basis. Understanding health insurance can be tough and confusing. Make sure you are aware of the clauses and conditions in plans before you buy. Don't just review what is covered, pay particular attention to the exclusions and limitations too.
